Teesside High School will have a busy Easter break, with work starting on two major refurbishment projects.

One project will see part of the School’s current tennis courts being upgraded to an international standard all-weather surface, providing a midi hockey pitch and training facility, an all-weather netball court and two five-a-side football pitches, whilst still retaining tennis and netball courts.

The other project will provide a brand new playground for the Preparatory School. This will include replacing a tarmac play area with an all-weather, synthetic surface marked out for a number of sports including tennis, hockey, football and netball.

Over 40 Teesside High School pupils took part in the music, speech and drama classes of the Darlington Festival for Performing Arts, held at Hummersknott Academy, in March.

The pupils in the Prep School Choir (pictured) celebrated their success after receiving distinctions for both of the pieces they sang, which made them joint winners of the Primary School Choir section. (more…)

Teesside High School in Eaglescliffe is starting 2013 with a newly appointed Preparatory School Director. Carolyn Williams has made the move to Teesside High from Yarm Preparatory School, where she was a Senior Teacher for ten years.

Carolyn Williams said: “I am thrilled to be appointed Director of the Preparatory School at Teesside High School.

“This is an exciting time to be joining such a well-reputed and successful school and I look forward to building on the exceptional opportunities that the boys and girls enjoy.”  (more…)

An intrepid group of more than 30 Teesside High School pupils took part in a sponsored ‘swimathon’ to raise funds for the South Cleveland Heart Fund and the School’s own Foundation. (more…)

Preparatory School pupils at Teesside High School in Eaglescliffe enjoyed an international end to their term, which culminated in over 100 children performing with the Northwest’s leading music, dance and cultural workshop company, Bangdrum.  (more…)

Pupils at Teesside High School in Eaglescliffe have been raising awareness of Fairtrade Fortnight, which ran from 27 February to 11 March.

Children in the Preparatory School gave a special performance during an assembly highlighting the work that Fairtrade undertakes striving towards better prices, decent working conditions, local sustainability, and fair terms for farmers and workers in the developing world. (more…)
