Career Support
Whilst Sixth Form may seem to be 'the end of the road', in actual fact it is simply a stepping stone into the world of higher education or employment. Most Sixth Form students at Teesside High School apply to higher education with the vast majority securing places at their first choice university.
During the two Sixth Form years we give careful guidance on choosing courses and institutions, and also offer a great deal of support when students are completing their UCAS form. We are very fortunate in that we have close links with several universities, many of which send representatives to the school to give information talks to our students. Form Time in the final term of Lower Sixth is solely focused on UCAS preparation and all Lower Sixth students attend the UCAS fair in Newcastle to discover more about their chosen universities.
Work experience is also something we value at Teesside High School, as it is able to give Sixth Formers a true perspective on what a career entails. Again we have several professional contacts which make this process easier for a student to organise. We also host an annual Careers Convention which representatives of well over one hundred professions attend.
