We are very fortunate to have a Woodland School on our school site, staffed by qualified practitioners. All children are able to enjoy a variety of learning activities in the magnificent school grounds, and facilities are used to the full by Nursery children. Our boys and girls enjoy exploring the outdoors during Woodland School activities; trapping over the bridge like the Three Billy Goats Gruff, growing plants in the school garden and using the large play equipment - speeding down the slide as they create their adventures.
Lessons in our Woodland School are a highlight for all of our children, who explore nature and the changing seasons during fortnightly sessions throughout the year.
We firmly believe that children learn best from being exposed to a wide range of first hand experiences. As such, learning is enhanced through many different educational visits and day trips on a regular basis. These include exploring articulated trucks at the Caterpillar factory, determining how cars are fixed at Mercedes Benz, booking holidays with Thomas Cook and seeing birds up close at RSPB Saltholme.
Even our youngest pupils are encouraged to participate in a variety of exciting lunchtime and after school activities, from Scooter Club to Lego Modelling and ballet to football. Our dedicated staff, in addition to specialist coaches and instructors, bring expertise and passion to the fun and exciting enrichment opportunities available for all age groups.
