For current Year 11 students interested in a career in Medicine.
We are aware of the ever increasing numbers of students who are keen to pursue a career in Medicine. Competition for this course at university is fierce and many students, owing to health and safety issues, are unable to secure relevant work experience until they are in Sixth Form, thus making an informed choice difficult at this stage.
Teesside High School has therefore organised an ‘Into Medicine’ evening at the school from 6.30-8.30pm on Thursday 2 February 2012 for interested Year 11s from local schools, with their parents.
At this event, we are lucky enough to have in attendance:
- A member of Durham University’s School of Medicine
- A leading neurosurgeon
- Current medical students
They will run three seminars which should shed light onto the demands and delights of a career in Medicine, provide details and tips about the application and selection process and talk about life as a Medical Student.
This should prove invaluable when deciding on A Level choices and future careers, for Year 11 students and for their parents.
The event is free of charge. Please contact Mrs Parker, Head of Sixth Form at Teesside High School on 01642 782095 or via email at sparker@teessidehigh.co.uk
