Teesside High School has achieved an outstanding 94.4% pass rate for students achieving 5 or more A*-C grades including English and Maths.

Our record for securing the very highest of grades continues; 52% of GCSE entries were graded at A*-A, including a host of new 7, 8 and 9 grades.

25% of Year 11 students secured 10 or more A*-A equivalent grades.

The School’s value-added performance continues to impress; this year group boosted it’s A*-C performance including English and Maths from a predicted 81% to almost 95%.

Kirsty Mackenzie, Head at Teesside High School, said: “We could not be more proud of our Year 11 students today.

“At a time of tremendous change in GCSE examinations, over half of all entries at Teesside High School secured an A* or A grade, which is incredible.

“As a non-selective school, we are thrilled to see such a huge number of outstanding individual successes and students achieving above and beyond their expectations. A quarter of our Year 11 cohort performed to the highest level in ten or more of their GCSE subjects, achieving A* and A grades across the board.

“These outcomes are testament to a combination of our small class sizes, superb high quality teaching and unrivalled support and guidance. It is a great day to say ‘well done’ but also a huge ‘thank you’ to our wonderful staff and supportive parents, without whom none of this would be possible.”
