Science students meet Major Tim Peake

Monday 07 November 2016 | By Samantha Hockney

Our high flying Science students returned to school today with beaming smiles as they recounted their exceptional weekend.

Hannah, Gabriella and Jenni presented at the Principia Schools Conference in York on Saturday and were able to meet renowned British astronaut Major Tim Peake.

The invitation to attend the conference came after the group won the Tees Valley Big Bang (UK Young Scientists and Engineers) Competition earlier this year.

The girls discussed their work on photobioreactors and Major Peake and his colleagues at the UK Space Agency were incredibly impressed at their understanding of the complex Science involved in the project.

An official photograph of the meeting will follow.

Excellent work, girls!
