Our girls’ hockey team claimed the winning title at the Under 16 County Hockey Tournament at Egglescliffe School on Wednesday 20 September.
The team, made up of Alex, Elena, Sapphire, Maddie, Lucy B, Isabelle, Jasmine, Hollie, Lucy C, Katie, Natasha, Victoria and Jasmine D, put in an impressive performance to qualify for the North East Semi Finals of the competition.
The girls worked hard together and showed real grit and determination to be crowned champions against Egglescliffe, Macmillan Academy and Yarm School.
Victoria Turnbull, Director of Sport, said: “These girls are a fantastic group and very talented, indeed. They now hold the County Hockey and District Netball titles, showing their skill and versatility in both sports.
“The standard of hockey from all of the tournament teams was excellent and a pleasure to watch. The games were very competitive and it is great to walk away with the title.”
