Teesside High sisters celebrate straight A*s

Thursday 24 August 2017 | By Samantha Hockney

Teesside High School student Molly picked up her GCSE results today, exactly one week to the day that her sister Libby learnt of her A-level fate.
Molly was delighted to achieve straight A* grades across all 11 of her GCSE subjects, following Libby’s straight A*s in Biology, Chemistry and History A-levels.
Teesside High School boosted its high grade success on both results days – almost half of GCSE entries and 33% at A-level achieved A* or A grades.
For sisters Libby and Molly, their results will enable them to successfully progress to their next step. Libby will study Medicine at Newcastle University next year, whilst Molly has chosen to study Biology, Chemistry, Geography and Mathematics at Teesside High School Sixth Form.
Molly said: “I have worked really hard for my results but I am still shocked at 11 A* grades – it’s quite overwhelming. I was delighted for Libby last week but it has been a nervous week waiting to see if I had done well, too. I’m so happy for us both.”
Libby said: “I am still absolutely over the moon with my results and really proud of my sister today. The support that we have both received from Teesside High School staff has been invaluable and I know that Molly will achieve great things at THS Sixth Form, too.”
Find out more about our high academic standards and excellent results at our next Open Day on Saturday 30 September, 9.30am-12.30pm.
