Teesside High School boys secured a convincing victory at the U13 Red House Athletics Championships on Monday 5 June.
Pupils from Red House School, St. Martin’s Ampleforth, Fyling Hall, Yarm, Durham and Queen Mary’s travelled to Middlesbrough Sport Village for the 44th annual competition.
THS girls performed well as a team and finished in a very respectable third place, with standout performances from Millie in the shotput and Peta in the 1500m.
Our boys were outstanding, gaining maximum points in:

  • 100m (Calum)
  • Long jump (Calum)
  • 800m (Rhys)
  • Discus (Isaac)
  • Relay (Marcus, Calum, Rhys and Euan).

These results plus a number of other individual high scoring performances secured the Overall Boys victory.
Miss Turnbull, Director of Sport at Teesside High School, said: “This is the first time the THS boys have won this competition; an excellent achievement given its consistent high standard. Well done.”
