World Book Day at Teesside High School

Friday 03 March 2017 | By Samantha Hockney

For World Book Day, the Prep staff team designed a wonderful range of events to promote and celebrate our love of reading.
The children arrived at School dressed as their favourite book characters, with great effort and imagination shown by all. Even the Prep staff joined in by creating a team of ‘Where’s Wally’ extras!
The children enjoyed taking part in a writing competition, racing to find the hidden ‘Wally’ and exploring ‘Room on the Broom’, expertly brought to life in Mr Griffith’s assembly.
We were delighted that Mrs Moore wore her other ‘hat’ and spoke to the all of the children about her amazing professional illustrating work. We learnt about her very own studio and the excellent drawings she does each day. In a special workshop, the children researched images for their own illustration and worked with Mrs Moore to develop their creative ideas in a sketchbook. They produced some magnificent work.

A fantastically fun World Book Day enjoyed by all.
