Life before Teesside High School

I have been teaching for over twenty years and have spent the last seven years working at a primary school in Sedgefield. During my time at Sedgefield, I taught children from Nursery through to Year 6. The Nursery was my very own project, which I set up from scratch and developed into a very successful and exciting place for children to learn.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

I enjoy seeing children’s faces light up when they finally understand a concept that they have been struggling with, that moment is extremely magical and worthwhile!

What do you enjoy most about Teesside High School?

I have always felt that Teesside High School has a wonderful family feel, where everyone in friendly and welcoming – I have certainly received an extremely warm welcome. I also think it is fantastic that children can begin their THS journey at 3 years old and can continue until they are 18.

What is your favourite time of year?

I enjoy autumn time the most when the leaves are changing colour and the nights are drawing in. Being snuggled up indoors, with a warm drink and a good movie is a perfect evening. I enjoy celebrating Halloween and Bonfire Night, too, as we always decorate our house and welcome lots of visitors.

What do others say about you?

My children think I am a little mad and silly but my friends think I am always busy and in a hurry.
