Millie Poppitt

Games Captain

How long have you been at Teesside High School?
Since the start of Year 6 in 2014.

What has been the highlight of your time at Teesside High School?
The highlight of my time at Teesside High School would be competing in lots of hockey matches alongside my friends.

Which subjects are you studying?
I am studying Sport Studies, Chemistry and Mathematics. I also studied Drama to AS-level.

What are your aspirations beyond Teesside High School?
I want to go to university and am looking at courses in Paediatric Nursing. I am planning on continuing with sport and joining lots of sport teams at uni!

What are your hobbies and interests?
Outside of school, I compete in hockey for Stokesley Ladies and swimming at Stokesley Swim Club, while doing trampolining at Hambleton Gliders for fun. I also play the flute; I am currently working on achieving Grade 7.

What are you going to bring to your role?
As Games Captain, I would like to help coach younger pupils and help them improve their skills. I also want to encourage more students to participate in lots of different aspects of sport, competitive or otherwise. Some of my best memories of school PE are at the end of terms when, for a change, we have fun with Just Dance or have a specialist zumba lesson. I found this really good as it was less competitive and a good way to socialise with more friends while keeping fit.
