Teesside High School is judged to be Excellent by the Independent Schools Inspectorate.

Exam results

We are extremely proud of our reputation for academic success and were delighted to strengthen this further with another round of excellent A-level and GCSE results in 2017. We are one of the region’s leading independent schools (The Sunday Times, 2016) and the best school in Stockton-on-Tees for attainment at GCSE (DfE School performance league tables, 2017).

A-level results

Teesside High School students celebrated a 100% A-level pass rate for the third successive year in 2017, with almost 70% of all entries achieving high grades (A*-B). In addition, the School achieved excellent individual value added scores, with all students exceeding target grades. 92% of students progressed to their first choice university (65% to Russell Group institutions) to study a wide range of degree courses, including Medicine, Classics, Geology and Biochemistry.

GCSE results

Teesside High School has secured impressive increases in the number of students achieving prestigious high grades at GCSE in 2017. The School achieved:

  • 26% of entries at A*, a 12% rise from 2016
  • 47% of entries at A*-A (national average – 20%)
  • 86% A*-C grades (national average – 66%)
  • 79% 5 A*-C including English and maths
  • 18 students achieved A*-C grades in GCSE Further Maths, with two students securing prestigious A** grades and five at A*.
