Take the next step
We are proud to be one of the North East's leading independent schools. Enquire about joining our wonderful and thriving school community.
The Prep School’s Co-Curricular Programme provides exciting opportunities for pupils to explore new interests, as well as spend time developing existing skills. Children also benefit from mixing with children in other year groups, forming new friendships along the way.
Our activities run during lunchtime, in a specialist co-curricular time slot and after school, Monday to Friday, and involve an impressive array of activities from Baby Ballet, Horse Riding, Street Dance and Mindfulness to Young Scientists Club, Eco Club, Advanced Maths and Coding; with dozens of clubs on offer, there is something for every pupil to try. (This term, there is no less than 38 clubs to choose from!)
Musical and sporting opportunities contribute significantly to our co-curricular provision; pupils across the school are invited to join our Pre-Prep and Prep Choirs which perform at a number of community events each year, as well as more specialist clubs such as Ukelele Club and Rock Band. Pupils in Year 3 and above also take part in a competitive programme of sporting fixtures with other independent and maintained schools in the locality and beyond.
Our children also develop tremendous self-confidence through the many performance opportunities in which they are involved throughout the year. This includes our annual Nativity production, Form Assemblies, Class Talking Times and many House competitions.
