Ed’s top marks in Mathematics continue!

Ed in Year 10 has scooped a further top grade in his A-levels – despite sitting the examination three years early! He has today secured an A grade in AS Further Mathematics – a subject usually studied in Sixth Form.

Ed joined Teesside High in 2019 from Crooksbarn Primary School, having already achieved the highest possible results in GCSE Statistics (9), GCSE Mathematics (A*), GCSE Further Mathematics (A*) and Level 3 Additional Maths (A).

Ed studied A-level Mathematics from Year 7 and was awarded an A* grade in the qualification at the end of Year 9.

His move to Further Mathematics is proving extremely successful – Ed is on track to achieve a further high grade at A-level, in the same summer he collects his GCSE results.

Ed said: “I feel extremely fortunate to have been given the opportunity to study Advanced level Maths at the same time as all of my other GCSE subjects.”

Kirsty Mackenzie, Head at Teesside High School, said: “Ed is one of the hardest working pupils I have ever met, and this result is no surprise! Ed has completed two of the toughest AS/A-level qualifications whilst excelling in all of his usual GCSE subjects. He is, without a doubt, a pleasure to teach and an incredible asset to our school community. We cannot wait to see what next year will bring.”

We are so proud of you, Ed!
