Head’s Blog – Sixth Form Transition Day
Monday 14 November 2022 | By System AdminSixth Form Transition Day
I hope that you all had a wonderful half term break! Although we have only been back for two weeks, a number of much-anticipated events have been able to make a welcome return to the school calendar. Last Wednesday, our Year 11 students attended their Sixth Form Transition Day. They were able to find out more about subjects they are considering studying at A-level and live a day in the life of a THS Sixth Form student! I hope the day helped you in making those important decisions as you approach the half-way point of your final school year.
School Events
Our THS Family Fireworks Display was back with a bang and for the second year running, we were sold out! Family and friends of THS were able to witness a fantastic display whilst enjoying refreshments provided by our catering team. Our Pumpkin Competition entries were super and I would like to congratulate Pierre once again for being awarded first place. I would also like to thank one of our parents who made a generous donation to support the event, we are extremely grateful.
This morning we saw our school community gather for our Remembrance Service. It was lovely to see so many of our friends and neighbours join us. Thank you to Mark White, OBE Deputy Lieutenant of County Durham and Rev. Matt Levisohn from All Saints Church who attended.
With Christmas just around the corner, we have many exciting activities planned for the rest of the term. From Children in Need Day, Senior School Speech Day, Prep School Nativity and many more trips and visits, we look forward to seeing our students thrive throughout this busy term.
A group of our very talented students from Years 8 to 11 have been working very hard since September on bringing the legend of Jason and The Argonauts to life. Their performance of the Senior Play will be taking place on Tuesday 29 November at 5.00pm with tickets available soon. Please kindly support their performance if you are able to do so.
I hope you enjoy reading the latest edition of our school newsletter. Have a lovely weekend!
