Learning Lunch – THS Sixth Form

Thursday 28 September 2023 | By Samantha Hockney

We are pleased to share details of a co-curricular opportunity for Sixth Form students, new to this academic year’s calendar – Learning Lunch.

The marketing department is delighted to be working with Mr Hannah to provide Sixth Form students with the chance to hear from, question and network with local, experienced business professionals, all during a convenient time in school – their lunch break!

The first in the series of our Learning Lunch events will take place on Wednesday 11 October, when Jeni Smith will join us in S2 to speak about her career to date. Jeni has almost 20 years’ experience in business, and particularly networking, strategy. She is the owner and founder of NetKno, an award-winning entrepreneur and named as one of the Future 100 Young Entrepreneurs in the UK and by the Telegraph as one of their ‘100 Women to Watch’. In her spare time (!), she is a PhD student at Durham University.

Jeni will speak to our students about her career story, top tips for success in business and how they can best ‘sell’ themselves and enter the business world with confidence.

This will hopefully be a vibrant and insightful talk which we hope many of our Year 12 and 13 students will come along to. Students are invited to eat their lunch as normal, and make their way to S2 for a 1.20pm start.

We look forward to sharing Jeni’s visit with you.
