Putting life-saving skills into practice at North Tees

Friday 23 November 2018 | By Samantha Hockney

Some of our Able, Gifted and Talented pupils in Years 5-7 made a special trip to the University Hospital of North Tees yesterday where they were able to meet the highly qualified resuscitation team.

The children watched hospital staff role-play a cardiac arrest and then used mannequins themselves to follow CPR guidelines. They were even able to see how effective their compressions were using a special monitor.

This was an invaluable opportunity for our pupils to both witness first-hand the incredible work our NHS staff do each and every day, but to also perfect the life saving skills we believe are so important, even at such a young age.

Thank you to the team at North Tees for an inspiring afternoon.
