Making sense of Brexit

Thursday 07 February 2019 | By Samantha Hockney

Riley in Year 12 led our Year 8 and 9 assembly this morning with a topic we have heard a lot about over the last two years – Brexit.

Riley provided a balanced, unbiased view around key campaign values on both sides, and where our country may be heading next. He discussed a range of regular news items, from immigration and trade to the economy and national identity, making sense of the ‘Irish Backstop’ and Theresa May’s deal in between.

Giving our eldest students the opportunity to engage at this level on topics affecting the country is extremely important to us, and we are grateful to Riley for sharing his views so eloquently.
