Putting Geography into practice

Friday 29 March 2019 | By Samantha Hockney

Today, Year 11 Geographers at Teesside High School took to the outdoors to put their studies into practice.

The group visited Teesside Park in order to study the impacts of economic change on the local area; exploring environmental quality, the shopping experience as well as noise, litter and traffic levels.

After refuelling in their favourite eateries, they travelled to Redcar beach to assess how successful the coastal management strategies are in protecting this stretch of coastline.

They carried out Groyne assessments as well various environmental bi-polar surveys on the sea wall and riprap; there was even time for ice cream!

A fantastic day for all.
