Stay in touch with Teesside High School

Wednesday 01 April 2020 | By Samantha Hockney

Whilst Teesside High School remains open to children of key workers, and staff and students follow their usual school timetables with full curriculum delivery now taking place online, we recognise that some families are left ‘up in the air’ with regards to their application or their child’s transition to Teesside High School, following the government’s quite sudden announcement for us to close.

We wanted to reassure you that, despite the current situation, our admissions team is operating at full capacity, working from home, and can help guide you through the school’s admissions procedures, albeit in a new way.

  • If you are new to Teesside High School and wish to receive some general information, we can send this to you by post. Please complete this form to allow us to do so. We will remain in contact, should you wish, and will be able to answer initial questions you may have.
  • If you have received a prospectus and wish to find out more, we are currently completing a number of our usual ‘tour’ appointments via Google Meet, allowing you to have a one-to-one consultation with our Head of Admissions. Here, we can talk in more detail about your family or children.
  • Whilst we are not in a position to book in taster days for the coming weeks, we can add your child to our year group waiting lists to ensure they are first in line to experience a day in school as and when we are able.

If you have already accepted a place at Teesside High School for September, we will stay in close contact to ensure your child’s transition is as seamless as possible. We are exploring a number of virtual transition opportunities for the summer term and will be in touch to communicate these with you after the Easter break.

If you have not yet secured your child’s Year 7 place for September or are worried about your child’s progression over the coming months in the absence of their usual school routine, please do get in touch. We have a small number of places remaining ahead of the new academic year and we would be delighted to share with you why we believe Teesside High School would be the perfect next step for your family.

They have both settled in so well, enjoying lessons and have made some really nice friends. The school has small class sizes making it a very good learning environment and students, teachers and support staff all get to know each other well.”

“The staff at Teesside High School are very welcoming and are always happy to help.”

“We are really happy we made the move to Teesside High School, my son has lots of friends inside and outside of school now and is doing very well academically. I love that the school is small and that the teachers really get to know the children.”
