Life before Teesside High School

I was born and bred in Teesside, before completing my MA at Glasgow University. I then spent some time in a management position in an internationally recognised company before completing my PGCE at Durham University and transferring my skills to teaching.

What do you enjoy most about your subject?

The fact that in literature not everything is clear cut. Exploring the ideas and the techniques and watching the students’ reactions as they are introduced to multiple interpretations before forming their own opinions is exciting.

What do you enjoy most about Teesside High School?

Teesside has a heart and a soul;  it is not only about academic achievements but that we want all the students who come here to grow as well rounded people.

What is your favourite lesson?

Novels and poetry.

What do others say about you?

Who I am, what I am, is the culmination of a lifetime of reading and multitude of stories. There are still so many more to read, I am a work in progress.
