Julia Hopkins

PE Technician and Forest School Leader

Life before Teesside High School

The majority of my life has been spent at Teesside High; I joined the school as a Year 6 pupil in 2009 and finished as a A-level student in 2016.  I went on to study Physical Education and Youth Sport at York St John University whilst popping back into school to help in the PE department and with the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme. I became PE Technician earlier in 2019 and have now finished university with a first class degree.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

There’s never a dull moment in the PE department; you never quite know what the day will bring when you walk in on a morning!

What do you enjoy most about Teesside High School?

The family atmosphere, everyone knows everyone.

What is your favourite time of the year?

Summer term has to be my favourite; sports day brings the whole school together and you also have more of a chance of warm Duke of Edinburgh expeditions.

What do others say about you?

Probably that I am organised and hard working with a good memory.
