Life before Teesside High School
The majority of my life has been spent at Teesside High School. I joined as a Year 6 pupil in 2009 and completed my A-levels in 2016. I then went on to study Physical Education and Youth Sport at York St John University, while regularly returning to school to support the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme and school activities. After graduating with a First Class Honours degree, I completed a Master of Science by Research, investigating the impact of Forest School on secondary-aged students.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I love being outdoors and seeing children develop confidence, independence and resilience through their experiences in nature. I also enjoy working alongside our wellbeing dog, George.
What do you enjoy most about Teesside High School?
The family atmosphere. Everyone knows and supports one another, and the beautiful grounds make it a fantastic place to learn and work.
What is your favourite time of the year?
Summer term. The grounds and woodland are at their best, and there are so many opportunities to spend time learning outdoors.
What do others say about you?
That if I’m not in the woods, I’m probably somewhere else on the grounds with George!
