Kelly Taylor

Learning Support Assistant

Life before Teesside High School

To begin my career, I completed my level 3 diploma in Public Services. Following this I realised that I wanted to work with children so I then completed my Level 2 and 3 Diploma in Children and Young People’s Workforce. Once I had achieved my diplomas, I became a Teaching Assistant at a secondary school. Due to my dedication to my role, this led to me getting my own classroom, where I planned, led and assessed the outcomes of a number of different interventions for the students. I worked at the secondary school for 6 years before I gained experience with younger children by becoming a Teaching Assistant at a primary school. I am now very lucky and excited to be a member of THS.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

I really enjoy getting to know all of the children and working with them to support and guide them in any way that they need. I also enjoy knowing that I am making a difference in their lives.

What do you enjoy most about Teesside High School?

The thing that I enjoy most about THS is that it is like a family. Everyone (staff and students) are polite and friendly. I always walk into THS with a big smile on my face, for the day ahead.

What is your favourite time of the year?

I love Christmas time, as this is a time to be with my family. I especially love seeing how happy they are when I give them their presents. Another reason why I love Christmas time is because it is cold (hopefully snowing). I love being cosy and warm inside, when it is so cold outside.

What do others say about you?

People have told me that I am a caring and kind person who will always put others before myself. I have also been told that I am bubbly and unique.
