Life before Teesside High School

What do you enjoy most about your job?

Every day is different. Teaching across two curriculum areas gives my day a variety and challenge that you just cannot get in any other professions. Teaching students who have a drive and desire to succeed is exceptionally rewarding especially as we watch them progress through the school from little Year 7 students to very capable Year 11 students ready to take on their next challenge in life.

What do you enjoy most about Teesside High School?

With our small classes I get to work with some fantastic students, learning what makes them tick and how I can best help them achieve their targets. Of course working at Teesside High, we are very lucky to be surrounded by some amazing grounds and facilities which all contribute to a fantastic learning environment. Knowing every student and every member of staff is like having a family away from home. I should also mention the cakes…they are amazing!

What is your favourite time of the year?

Without a shadow of doubt my favourite time of year is the summer. Getting out of the classroom into the grounds is great. Of course the summer term hectic and jam packed with events but always thoroughly enjoyable.
