U12 Indoor Hockey team shines at North East Tournament
Tuesday 25 November 2025 | By Erin McKeownOn Monday 24 November, the U12 Hockey team travelled to Sedbergh Sports and Leisure Centre to take part in the Indoor Hockey North East Tournament. The team displayed outstanding skill, determination and teamwork throughout the day, finishing an impressive 2nd overall in the North East.
North East Tournament
The tournament began with a strong performance as the team defeated The Grammar School at Leeds 5–1, setting a confident tone for the rest of the competition. This was followed by a nail-biting match against RGS Newcastle, which remained goalless until the final whistle. In a dramatic end-of-time short corner, Isaac and Freddie scored the winning goal, securing a well-earned 1–0 victory.
A thrilling 4–3 win over Queen Elizabeth Grammar School further showcased the team’s attacking strength and composure under pressure. Their final match saw a tough challenge against Yarm School, and despite a loss, the team continued to show resilience and commitment.
Player performances
Each player made a significant contribution to the team’s success. Arran impressed with his versatility, performing brilliantly in both defence and attack and scoring one goal, alongside Freddie who produced excellent attacking play, adding two goals to the tally. Max provided consistent attacking energy throughout the day, whilst Noah and Casey both gave outstanding defensive performances, keeping opposition attacks at bay. Isaac F was exceptional in goal, showcasing quick reactions and strong decision-making and Isaac H led the scoring with a remarkable seven goals, demonstrating superb attacking flair.
We are incredibly proud of the entire squad for their hard work. Their second place finish means they will now represent the North East in the Northern Championships next week. We wish them the very best of luck as they continue their fantastic season.
