Students at Teesside High School will welcome Team GB athlete Bianca Williams to lessons on Friday 8 May, as the professional sprinter visits to offer an engaging insight into elite sport.

Bianca Williams was instrumental to Great Britain‘s silver medal in the 4x100m relay at the 2024 Olympics in Paris. She ranks 5th on the UK all-time list at 200m with a personal best of 22.45s.

Bianca will visit Teesside High to introduce pupils to life as an athlete, sharing her training routine, including how she builds speed, strength and discipline through regular practice.

Prep pupils will be first to hear from Bianca, who will focus on the importance of healthy habits, such as good nutrition, rest and injury prevention, as well as the role these play in both sporting performance and general wellbeing.

Next, Bianca will lead a sprinting masterclass with Able, Gifted and Talented PE pupils from Years 7-10. This session is designed not only to inspire an interest in physical activity, but also to reinforce broader values such as perseverance, goal-setting and self-belief. Pupils will have the opportunity to ask Bianca questions, making the experience interactive and memorable.

Overall, Bianca’s visit aims to motivate our pupils to approach challenges positively, whether in sport, academics or everyday life. This will be an experience to remember for our school community and we are very grateful to Bianca for giving up her time to visit us.

We will share a snapshot of the activities on our social media pages – watch this space!
