Three talented musicians from Teesside High School took to the stage to celebrate the official opening of Stockton’s spectacular new Waterfront park on Saturday.

Faith in Year 8 and Emilia and Libby in Year 10 joined Director of Music, Mrs Shevels, and 72 primary school children from across the area to accompany local folk band Cattle & Cane for the debut of their new song, Our Place.

The performance took place in the town’s striking new amphitheatre, drawing applause from a packed crowd of residents, family and friends who gathered to explore Stockton’s transformed riverside.

Following their moment in the spotlight, the students enjoyed a full day of community festivities, which included exploring the new play areas and gardens, a spectacular fireworks display and a flypast from RAF C-47 Dakota.

Mrs Shevels, Director of Music at Teesside High School, said: “We had a wonderful experience and are grateful to Stockton Borough Council for the opportunity to participate in such an exciting event.

“It was an honour to provide such a fantastic memory for our young musicians.”
