A festive few weeks ahead! – Head’s Blog
Friday 21 November 2025 | By Erin McKeownStudents have returned to school with an exciting and festive few weeks ahead of them!
Family Fireworks Display
We started off the second half of the autumn term with a bang at our annual PTA Family Fireworks Display. With over 700 tickets sold, it was our biggest turn-out yet. Thank you to all the friends and families who came along and it was so nice to also see so many new faces from our local community. I hope you all enjoyed the evening as much as we did.
Due to the incredible support at events such as these, it makes it possible to make exciting changes to pupil facilities in school. I am thrilled to share that the latest addition to the Prep School playground is now open and ready for play!
Children in Need and Sixth Form Transition Day
Students throughout Prep School, Senior School and Sixth Form recently took part in an array of activities for Children in Need Day. A big well done to Sixth Form students for organising such exciting activities in order to raise money for an incredible cause.
Children in Need Day was extra busy this year as it fell on the same day as Sixth Form Transition Day for Year 11 students. I have heard great feedback from students about their experience which has been lovely to hear.
The coming weeks
We have much more to look forward to in the coming weeks, too! From a visit to London to the hotly anticipated ski trip in Austria, which is just around the corner. Pupils have been practising their skills during a recent dry ski slope session. This promises to be a fantastic trip and has been thoroughly enjoyed in the past. Look out for the photographs from the excursion on social media.
Our school teams are now in the depth of their seasons, with fixtures most evenings. The results are outstanding and a real testament to the hard work pupils are putting in – especially those who are new to the sports.
A festive time at the PTA Christmas Market
Finally, I would like to remind everybody of our annual PTA Christmas Market taking place next weekend, on Saturday 29 November, 10.00am-1.00pm. There will be a range of Christmas goodies on offer alongside the opportunity to meet Santa and much more. I look forward to seeing you there.
