Head’s blog – June

Monday 20 June 2022 | By Megan Connor

Firstly, I would like to say a huge welcome back to our Year 12 students who have just returned from study leave. I am sure you have all used your time away from school wisely and we will see the results of your hard work within the next couple of months. It is lovely to have you all back around school.

If you missed our good news, we are thrilled to be celebrating an ‘excellent’ rating from the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI). I am delighted that the hard work and dedication of our incredible staff and students is being recognised and although it is no surprise to us, it is always nice to have this confirmed by outside agencies who have visited many schools as part of the inspection process. I would like to take this time to thank you all again for your continued support over the years. If you have yet to read the full report, I highly recommend taking a look here. It really does make for a wonderful read.

We had a very busy week last week! Our Prep School pupils got the chance to experience a day in the year above. They had a great time making new friends in class and meeting their new teachers.

We also welcomed all the new students who will be joining us in September. From Nursery to Year 7, we were thrilled to see so many new faces enjoying their first taste of Teesside High School. A huge thank you to all of our current students who assisted on the day.

Last Friday, parents and grandparents joined us in our Prep School for an exciting Father’s Day assembly from our Early Years Department. They sang their songs fantastically and told us all about why they loved their father’s. We definitely had a few teary eyes in the audience.

I was delighted to see so many of our pupils, families and friends at our Platinum Jubilee Summer Fair! It was a wonderful day celebrating the Platinum Jubilee and I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did.

When we host large events like this it makes me feel so grateful to be a part of such an amazing family community. The day was filled with fun, laughter and our THS community spirit!

Have a fantastic week!
