It was an excellent day for Teesside High School at the District Athletics Championships on Thursday 9 May.

Despite the rain and freezing conditions, all students performed very well and achieved some brilliant individual scores.

The Intermediate Girls dominated their field and track events, topping their group standings and coming home with a trophy for their efforts.

The Junior Girls worked hard and placed a very credible second, just missing out on the title by four points.

Megan and Calum in Year 10 led from the front, winning every event they entered. Overall, 11 THS students qualified for the next County stage in the competition.

Victoria Turnbull, Director of Sport at Teesside High School said: “Teesside High has an excellent record at the District Athletics Championships and I am delighted this has continued in 2019. As a small school, we continue to rival much larger secondary competitors and punch above our weight in terms of results.”
