Stockton District Cross Country Championships

We took 25 pupils to Norton Sports Complex to compete in the Stockton District Cross Country Championships. Schools from across the district were well represented, with strong fields in every age category. The preliminary races alone featured over 110 competitors, with race distances ranging from just over a mile and a half to three miles for the older boys.

Cross country is never easy, and we have enormous respect for every pupil who took part. It takes real resilience, determination and strength of character to step up to a challenge that is physically and mentally demanding. Simply taking on the course and pushing yourself outside your comfort zone is an achievement in itself, and all 25 pupils should be proud of their efforts.

This year, our older pupils led by example with some excellent individual performances:

Intermediate Boys

  • Noah – 2nd place
  • Lewis – 7th place
  • Arlo – 12th place

Intermediate Girls

  • Annie – 8th place
  • Lucie – 9th place
  • Rosie – 17th place

Another standout performance came from our Year 7 Sports Scholar, Eva, who finished an impressive 6th place in the Preliminary Girls race. Even more excitingly, Eva is still only in Year 7, meaning she has another year competing in this age category!

Whilst we are always delighted to celebrate individual results, what matters just as much is seeing pupils challenge themselves, show resilience and recognise their own progress. It was particularly lovely to see a number of runners feeling proud of themselves for achieving a better finishing position than last year.

Every pupil who represented the school did so with commitment and determination. We are incredibly proud of all 25 competitors for embracing the challenge, giving their best and representing the school so positively. Well done, everyone!
