Teen Tetrathlon Trailblazer Returns from Australia to Collect GCSE Results After Making UK Sporting History

Among the individual GCSE success stories at Teesside High School is Annabel, who returned from Australia just in time to collect her results.  Annabel recently made history as the youngest ever athlete ever selected to represent the UK at the prestigious Pony Club Tetrathlon International exchange.

Sixteen-year-old Annabel Lupton, a Year 11 student has balanced her studies and training to much success.

Annabel has gained excellent grades across all of her GCSE subjects, and was also placed fourth in the whole series of events that took place in Australia, representing the UK and competing against teams from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the Republic of Ireland and the United States.

Annabel also won the Pony Club UK Championship for the second consecutive year. This was in the Open Class which is Under 25.

Annabel’s parents said:

“We would like to thank Teesside High for everything they have done for Annabel. Balancing a busy training schedule alongside her education is a challenge and she has been supported throughout. Not only has Annabel had the opportunity to represent the UK she has also achieved fantastic GCSE results.”

Annabel is highly regarded as an excellent example of our students who received their exam results this month. Alongside the excellent reputation of the school and record of high achievement, we find that what parents value most is the caring, friendly and dynamic environment in which each individual, and their interests, is nurtured, challenged and supported.
