Pupils from Teesside High School teamed up with two local primary schools to raise an impressive £3,256 for Teesside Mind through a fun-filled fundraising event earlier this term.

THS hosted a lively and colourful Colour Run in its riverside grounds on Thursday 22 May. Students from The Links Primary School and Hartburn Primary School were invited to join the event, with funds raised through pupil sponsorship.

Teesside Mind is the region’s leading mental health charity, supporting over 27,000 people each year. The organisation is committed to the belief that everyone deserves access to quality mental health support. Its wide range of services includes drop-in sessions for children, career guidance, dementia advisory support, private counselling and much more.

Pupils in all three schools heard from a charity ambassador in a wellbeing assembly prior to the Colour Run, and, following the event, now have access to a host of classroom wellbeing resources from the team at Mind, ensuring they can continue to learn about the ways in which its teams support local people and how they can take care of their own mental health and wellbeing.

Carolyn Williams, Director of Prep at Teesside High School, said: “It was a privilege to host the Colour Run in support of Teesside Mind. We were thrilled to welcome pupils from The Links and Hartburn Primary Schools to our grounds and watch them create such joyful and colourful memories together.

“I am incredibly proud of our pupils for their enthusiasm and dedication in raising money for such a vital cause. I know I speak for the entire school community when I say we are looking forward to continuing our partnership with Teesside Mind.”
