Fees and Early Years Funding

Understanding childcare fees and funding can be quite confusing, but we hope this simple guide will help.

Riverbank Nursery fees are set out below.

These fees apply to families who are not eligible for any government funding and represent the full, non-funded cost of childcare at our wonderful new setting.

Start time End time 0-2 years 2-3 years
Full week, Monday to Friday 8.00am 6.00pm £335.00 £305.00
Full day 8.00am 6.00pm £70.00 £65.00
Early start 7.30am 8.00am £5.00 £5.00

Unfunded fees include meals prepared by our school Chef and Catering Team, healthy snacks, refreshments and consumables. Fees are based on 50 weeks per year, paid monthly in advance. Families must pre-book a minimum of two full days. Priority of place may be given to full-time applicants.
There is a £100 fee upon registration to secure your child’s place, refunded against your first fee invoice.

Funded childcare

If you are eligible, you can receive 30 hours of government-funded childcare. You simply need a code from the government to share with Riverbank Nursery admissions staff.

Our 30 hours funded childcare is split across 50 weeks of the year to 22.8 hours per week. This equates to two full days. A third day would also be partially funded. You can see the breakdown of costs over a number of days per week here.

During fully funded sessions, the following charges apply:

Meals and snacks
Full day £6.70

These items are not covered by the funding we receive.

Frequently asked questions

How does the funding work?

You can use your 22.8 hours of funding per week in an arrangement which suits your family; it must be a minimum of two full days, but you can choose which days best suit you. This arrangement is set for the time your child is with us at Riverbank. Any changes must be in writing to the Nursery Manager with at least one month’s notice.

A third day would also be partially funded. For any additional days, you would pay the normal non-funded daily fee, which is inclusive of meals and snacks.

How do I find out if I am eligible for funding?

Working parents can find out if they are eligible here.

What do I need to show that I am eligible?

You need to provide a funding code from the government to prove your eligibility. This is made available through your gov.uk childcare account following your successful application. It is an 11 digit code, usually starting with a 5.
