Welcome to our Pre-School Class
Pre-School children at Teesside High thrive in a safe, secure and vibrant learning environment where purposeful play is always the order of the day.
Our experienced Pre-School staff nurture each child’s natural curiosity to discover and explore, guiding them in their learning through a broad range of engaging activities, from engaging in phonics through the renowned Song of Sounds programme to exploring nature and the great outdoors with weekly Forest School sessions. Individuality is cherished, instilling a positive sense of personal identity and developing character, and in this way the foundations for a lifelong love of learning are laid.

Pre-School values
We teach our children to be kind, to show respect, to aim high and to be a team player. Both inside and outside the classroom, we learn about our diverse world and our place within it. We develop a love of nature, and we take steps to care for our environment. We learn about and celebrate different cultures and beliefs.
Our work is very much in partnership with parents; we aim to build positive and proactive relationships with families to ensure a child’s very best start in life. We use a dedicated, secure portal to share updates and photographs from your child’s week and operate a consistent ‘open door’ policy to ensure you too are happy with your child’s new setting.
When can my child join?
We welcome children into Pre-School from the term of their third birthday. Pupils join us from our on-site 0-3 setting, Riverbank Nursery, or you can choose for our Pre-School Class to be your son/daughter’s first taste of Early Years education. Either way, we would love to hear from you.
