Jodie Connolly

Pastoral Support Officer

Life before Teesside High School

I have come to Teesside High School after working in my previous secondary school for just over 23 years. I had numerous support roles within the school such as Headteacher’s PA and Attendance Officer but I have been a Pastoral Leader for the last 15 years.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

I have an absolute passion for pastoral care so I  love every element of my job. Of course it is tough some days, particularly when supporting students who are upset or have experienced a bereavement, however I thrive on making people happy.  I put my all into making sure the students know they are cared for and well supported.

What do you enjoy most about Teesside High School?

The students at Teesside High School are extremely polite and there is most certainly a wonderful family feel about the school. Both staff and students have made me feel so welcome within their community.

The students go above and beyond to help both their peers and staff, nothing is too much trouble for them.

What is your favourite time of the year?

I love the spring. When the weather is starting to warm it is perfect and I especially like celebrating Easter. I have two young children, so I love organising egg hunts and playing a lot of Easter related games.

What do others say about you?

A lot of people call me the Cheshire Cat as I constantly have a smile on my face. People call me approachable, easy to talk to and a very good listener.
