A former pupil of Durham High School, Carolyn Williams studied Primary Education at Northumbria University. She graduated with a BEd (Hons), specialising in Mathematics and Science, before taking up her first teaching post in London. A few years later, Carolyn returned to the North East and successfully embarked on a Postgraduate Certificate in Further Professional Studies in Education at Durham University.
Having taught at two contrasting state schools, Carolyn joined Yarm Preparatory School in 2002 as a form teacher before being appointed Head of Mathematics and Senior Teacher the following year. Over the next 11 years, she gained a great deal of experience teaching almost every subject to most year groups. Ready for a new challenge, she joined the Teesside High family in January 2013 taking up the position of Director of the Preparatory School.
