Before joining Teesside High School, I worked at Durham University for over 25 years in a variety of marketing, brand and communications leadership roles. While I enjoyed working on large-scale projects, I am now working at Teesside High School because I was looking for an opportunity to be part of a smaller close-knit community where I could make a real difference every day.
I enjoy the variety that every day brings and the opportunity to combine creativity with strategy. Most of all, I love helping people connect with Teesside High School’s values and telling the stories that make it unique.
From my very first day, I was taken by how warm and welcoming everyone is. There is a real sense of community, kindness and ambition, and it’s exciting to be part of a school where people genuinely care about helping every pupil thrive. The beautiful grounds, with their mature trees and riverside setting, make it a truly inspiring place to work.
Spring. I enjoy seeing everything come back to life after winter, and it’s the perfect time to get outdoors for long walks and appreciate nature. There is something uplifting about a season full of new beginnings.
People often describe me as approachable, positive and someone who brings people together. They say I have a calm, thoughtful approach, enjoy encouraging others and always look for the best in people.
