TeacherLife before Teesside High School
Graduating from University with a degree in Chemical Engineering, I knew I thrived on learning and education and decided to become a teacher. I have worked in a variety of schools from Suffolk to North Yorkshire. Teesside is where I am from so it will be a change to teach in my home county.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I find enjoyment in the lightbulb moments. Maths is rarely a favourite subject of students and I strive to make my classroom a welcoming environment and space for progress and hard work. The lightbulb moments come from really understanding how a student best learns and helping them achieve that for each topic.
What do you enjoy most about Teesside High School?
The sense of community between staff. The sense of dedication from staff to the school, everyone strives to give every student personalised learning and help them achieve their dreams.
What is your favourite time of the year?
It has to be the ‘ber months! Changing of the leaves, weather cooling, hats, hot coffee and lots more festivities.
What do others say about you?
Overly organised with a great memory. And I would hope I am thought of as someone who gives their all and is a team player.
