Life before Teesside High School

Born and raised in the northern town of Berwick-upon-Tweed. I grew up playing a variety of sports such as football, tennis and rowing, while representing the Scottish Borders in rugby and swimming. Following school and sixth form, I studied Sport and Exercise Science at Leeds Beckett University before completing my PGCE in Secondary Physical Education through Northumbria University.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

I enjoy sharing my knowledge of sport and physical activity to develop pupils’ sporting abilities. I also enjoy providing pupils with the positive experiences in lessons and extra-curricular sport that I had at school.

What do you enjoy most about Teesside High School?

I enjoy the close-knit environment, all of the staff and pupils know each other well giving THS a strong family-like atmosphere.

What is your favourite time of year?

Teaching PE on the scenic THS grounds under the sun makes the summer term my favourite time of year.

What do others say about you?

I think they would say I am friendly, thoughtful, organised and good at every sport, except for dancing!
