Applying for Scholarships at Teesside High School

Scholarships are awarded annually to students entering Year 7 and Year 12 for Academic, Music and Sport disciplines. More details can be found on our Scholarships and Bursaries page.
Music and Sport Scholarships
Further details of the awards and both Music and Sport application forms can be obtained from Mrs Shipley, Admissions Assistant, via nshipley@teessidehigh.co.uk. Please specify your application preference in your covering email. The closing date for the receipt of Music and Sport Scholarship applications is Friday 16 January.
Academic – Senior School and Sixth Form Assessment Criteria
To be considered for a Senior School Academic Scholarship, your child must complete a short, computerised assessment. We use the University of Cambridge CEM Assessment. This assessment will take place on the forthcoming Year 7 Transition Day on Thursday 8 January. Following this, the highest performing students will be contacted and invited to submit a supplementary application form. They will then return to school for a more formal scholarship testing programme and interview week commencing Monday 2 February.
To be considered for a Sixth Form Academic Scholarship, your son/daughter must meet the following criteria in their mock examinations:
- Candidates must pass all of their mock examinations with a minimum grade 4+
- Grade 5 or above must be achieved in English Language and Mathematics
- Crucially, the cumulative total of their best six grades must be a minimum of 45 (equivalent to 7.5 in their six best subjects).
Successful Year 11 students at Teesside High will be informed of their Academic Scholarship offer as their mock examination results become available, and this will be formalised in a letter to parents. For external candidates, please send mock examination results and an outline of your proposed application to admissions@teessidehigh.co.uk
