THS Sixth Form Open Evening – Thursday 15 October 2026

Tuesday 06 October 2026 | By Jayne Pavitt

Year 11 students and their parents are warmly invited to attend our Sixth Form Open Evening, which will take place in the Main Hall and our Sixth Form building on Thursday 15 October, 6.00pm-7.30pm.

The Sixth Form Open Evening is an opportunity for Year 11 students at THS and those from other schools in the locality to come along and explore what THS Sixth Form has to offer.  This event provides the opportunity to hear from subject specialists from across the Sixth Form curriculum, aiming to inform and inspire students and demonstrate the significant step change in the wider study experience post-16.

What should I expect?

Staff will also be on hand to discuss:

  • Our exceptional track record of student progress – we are the best of 16 further education providers in Teesside for this measure. Put simply, students at Teesside High School make more progress than at any school or college in the area.
  • Our wide range of A-level, BTEC and other qualifications, taught by outstanding subject specialists.
  • The best combination of subjects for a particular career path.
  • Our small, seminar-style classes, where personalised learning is key.
  • Teaching hours; at THS Sixth Form we devote the highest number of hours to face-to-face teaching compared to any sixth form provider in the local area.
  • Our specially devised timetable, with one afternoon per week dedicated to external enrichment sessions at venues such as Tees Barrage and David Lloyd.

Details of our calendar of student social events, excellent university and careers support, routes into apprenticeships and Industry Week placements will also be available, along with information about our range of scholarships and bursaries.

This evening is the starting point for an important series of decisions, and information about our Sixth Form Transition Day on Friday 6 November will also be shared.  We very much look forward to seeing all students and parents.

We would be grateful if you could please register your interest in attending via email to our Admissions Lead, Natalie Shipley at nshipley@teessidehigh.co.uk
