Valentine’s Day – we love Teesside High School!

Tuesday 15 February 2022 | By Megan Connor

Here at Teesside High School, we have been celebrating Valentine’s Day and this week’s theme of love through all sorts of different activities and discussions.

Yesterday, in the Senior School, the week began with a special assembly where staff and pupils were able to share what they love about school. Here are some of our favourite quotes:

“I love THS because of the endless opportunities we have and all of the sports we get to take part in.” – Lucy, Year 7

“I love THS because…the children are happy!” – Mrs Clapton

“I love THS because of the amazing enrichments such as Forest School, Mindfulness Colouring and Spring Baking.” – George D, Year 7

“I love school because of the teachers and the work they provide us with.” – George S, Year 7

“I love THS because it feels like a second home.” – Miss Hockney

“I love THS because of the small classes and the community it brings.” – Amelia, Year 9.

The assembly allowed our students to consider what they love about being part of our small school community. It was amazing to hear such positive and kind words and even post-it notes being spread around our learning environment!

At the same time, in Early Years, pupils were busy getting creative with their Valentine’s Day craft boxes, made with love by Miss Hall and Mrs Clapton. Our Early Years parents have also been sharing lovely messages about what they love about their child.

Reception class received a little gift from Mrs McCullagh – a crafted heart – and took some time to think about what and who they love, too. You can find some of their photographs here.

It was a lovely day all round! Happy Valentine’s Day, from all at THS.
