Ed in Year 9, is celebrating the highest possible grade in A-level Mathematics despite sitting the examination four years early. The talented mathematician has been studying A-level Mathematics alongside a broad range of Year 9 subjects.

Ed said: “I am delighted that I have managed to achieve such a high grade whilst keeping up with the demands of the Year 9 curriculum.”

Ed’s A-level comes after he secured a Grade 9 in GCSE Statistics, an A* in GCSE Further Mathematics and an A in Level 3 Additional Maths during his time at primary school, alongside full marks in his SATs. He studied AS-level Mathematics from Year 7, before completing the full A-level this year.

Kirsty Mackenzie, Head, said: “Ed is the youngest of our pupils to attain an A-level grade, and a shining example of what personalised learning can do for our students.

“We are delighted with this wonderful achievement and cannot wait to see what else Ed achieves in the coming years. We have no doubt that he will go on to accomplish wonderful things.”

Ed will continue his GCSE studies in Year 10 in September alongside studying Further Mathematics.
