National Offer Day – what happens next?
Monday 02 March 2026 | By Samantha HockneyMonday 2 March is National Offer Day – the day thousands of families in Teesside receive their child’s secondary school allocation.
It is often a nervous wait to see if your first choice is confirmed, and it may feel like bad news if your preferred mainstream school is over-subscribed.
At Teesside High School, we have extensive experience supporting families whose plans may have unexpectedly changed following their allocation.
We are a small independent school with each individual at the heart. We are renowned for the personalised educational experience we offer and work in partnership with Year 6 children and their families to ensure they receive a smooth, confident and seamless transition into senior education.
If you are disappointed with your allocated mainstream secondary school and would value advice or guidance on the options available to you at THS, please get in touch with our friendly admissions team. We would love to hear from you.
What is different about Teesside High?
At Teesside High School, we are proud to be a school where every child is truly known as an individual. Our small class sizes allow us to understand how each pupil learns best and to remove any potential barriers to their progress and achievement.
Our approach to teaching and learning is unique; our curriculum is underpinned and enhanced by the bespoke Thinking Curriculum, moving our students away from rote learning and simply memorising content to pass examinations. Our pupils are effective learners with a deep personal awareness, understanding not only why concepts work, but why they matter and how they are applied in the real world.
Our co-curricular provision is outstanding and challenges our pupils to build new strengths and essential life skills. There is so much more to any student than their academic achievements, and our carefully designed enrichment programme builds communication, teamwork, resilience and responsibility, to name but a few.
Pastoral care at Teesside High School is unrivalled. Our full-time, non-teaching Pastoral Support Officer is dedicated solely to the wellbeing and welfare of our pupils, ensuring every child feels supported, valued and confident – particularly during the transition from Year 6 into Year 7.
Hear from our parents

“The pastoral care at Teesside High School is outstanding and continues to have a profoundly positive impact on our family.”
