Head’s blog – May half term

Friday 27 May 2022 | By Megan Connor

Firstly, I would like to say a huge well done to all of our pupils who have spent the past couple of weeks completing their GCSE and A-level examinations. Whilst there are still a few remaining, you are now on the homestretch, so keep up the hard work. I hope you are going into the half term feeling confident that you will be proud of your final results.

It is great to see that our Early Years pupils have been learning all about the Queen and celebrating the Platinum Jubilee by designing beautiful crowns, drawing portraits of the Queen and making afternoon tea in Forest School. I am really looking forward to celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee myself next week!

Last week, our Year 5 and Year 6 pupils returned from a cultural trip to Edinburgh. I loved seeing photos of them enjoying their time at Dynamic Earth, the National Museum of Scotland, Camera Obscura, Edinburgh Zoo and many more amazing places. I hope they will cherish their memories and their time spent together in such an incredible city.

Our events calendar is jam-packed with exciting activities to look forward to over the next few weeks. We have reward trips to Flamingo Land, Sports Days and our Year 6 Transition Day to name a few.

Our PTA Family Quiz Night is just around the corner so if you still have not got your tickets for Friday 10 June, they are available now on ParentPay. I am studying in preparation for what I am sure will be a fantastic evening.

Next up, we have our Platinum Jubilee Summer Fair on Saturday 18 June. This event is open to everybody, so be sure to tell your friends, family, neighbours and colleagues that they are all welcome. We have a fun-filled day of fairground attractions, live music and much more planned and we can not wait to welcome you all.

If you would like to support our Summer Fair, we are still looking for donations to our raffle that will be drawn on the day. We already have some fantastic contributions from friends and family of the school. If you would like to contribute a prize, please drop it off at our Main Reception or email info@teessidehigh.co.uk.

Wishing you all a wonderful half term break and a wonderful Jubilee weekend.
