Tea-Time Talk – Alison Fellows, Wednesday 3 May, 4.30pm

Wednesday 26 April 2023 | By Megan Connor

We are delighted to invite you to another event in our exciting Tea-Time Talk series for Senior School and Sixth Form students.  This event will take place on Wednesday 3 May at 4.30pm in S2 of the Sixth Form building, and refreshments will be provided.

Our guest speaker will be Alison Fellows.  Alison attended Teesside High School before studying Law at Cambridge University, and then trained as a solicitor in London, specialising in Corporate Law.  After getting married and moving back to the North East, she became a partner and head of the commercial team at a large firm of solicitors in Newcastle.

Alison then moved into the public sector and became Assistant Director of Capital Investment at Newcastle City Council, working on major projects and managing the Council’s investment programme.  She then moved to Sunderland Council where she became the Executive Director of Commercial Development, leading on the city’s regeneration projects.  Alison returned to Teesside and spent five years as the Group Commercial Director at Tees Valley Combined Authority, delivering its investment programme across five local councils and other partners.  She has spent the last year as the Commercial Director of Teesside International Airport, before stepping down in March 2023 to focus on non-executive and consultancy work.

Alison has a wealth of experience in these fields and I am sure will have plenty of interesting insight into studying and practising law, as well as the many different careers such a degree could lead to.

This is a Gifted and Talented event but we welcome all students and their parents to join us.  Please confirm your attendance using the Google Form circulated.

We look forward to seeing you there!
