Year 13 students at Teesside High School are celebrating a host of outstanding achievements on A-level results day – including a 100% pass rate for the seventh consecutive year.

Prestigious high grades

20% of examination entries have been awarded prestigious A*-A grades, reflecting the hard work and dedication of students and staff alike.

57% of entries achieved high grades A*-B, enabling pupils to progress to a range of first-choice universities.

Best in Teesside

These fantastic results come just months after Teesside High School was named the best school or college in Teesside for student progress at A-level in the Department for Education league tables.

The league tables placed THS Sixth Form in the top 2% of A-level providers nationally, and demonstrated how students, on average, achieve A-level results almost half a grade higher than their predictions suggest.

Kirsty Mackenzie, Head at Teesside High School, said: “We are so incredibly proud of our Year 13 students as they collect their A-level results today.

“These grades are the product of years of hard work, but tell only part of the story of the fantastic young adults they have grown to become.

“In their two years at THS Sixth Form, our pupils have developed skills which truly set them apart – they are student leaders, outdoor education advocates, articulate speakers and creative performers – resilient and mature beyond their years.

“It has been a year of great success for THS Sixth Form, particularly after being ranked in the top 100 schools or colleges nationally in the Department for Education 16-18 league tables. We have always taken huge pride in our value-added results – put simply, whatever their starting point, Sixth Form pupils make more progress at Teesside High than they would anywhere else.

“It has been a pleasure to work alongside such a talented and motivated cohort and we look forward to following their further success in the years to come.”
