Extra curricular activities play an important role in the development of the individual at THS. Giving pupils the opportunity to not only experience the extensive range of activities and clubs offered by the School, but to develop their confidence, responsibility, leadership and communication skills.
There are team practices and clubs in hockey, football, netball, rugby, tennis, athletics and rounders.
You can try your hand at all sorts of activities from salsa dancing to playing in the swing band, origami to playing badminton. There are creative and cultural clubs; holiday Spanish and Italian; orchestra – to name a few.
Staff offer clinics in their subject to help students who may have been absent and need to catch up, or who need help with a certain topic.
Departments also organise a wide range of subject specific trips and visits to complement the work undertaken in the classroom. There is also a range of visits and opportunities to develop new skills in foreign lands – cultural trips to France and Germany for example, skiing in Austria, sports tours, and for the more adventurous we have taken expeditions to Borneo, China, Namibia and Thailand.
